Visiting Companions pairs older adults with trained volunteers for meaningful, in-person visits. Based on shared interests and location, you and your companion can create a schedule that works — whether weekly, biweekly, or something in between.
We’ll talk with you by phone to learn about your interests and what kind of visits would be meaningful to you.
We match based on availability, location, and shared interests. Due to high demand, matching may take some time.
You and your companion agree on a visit schedule that works — many visit weekly or every other week.
You must be 70 years or older, live in the Twin Cities Metro area, and be looking for meaningful social connection.
You’ll receive a phone call from our team to get to know you and confirm that in-person visits are a good fit. Then we’ll begin the match process.
We match participants based on location, availability, and common interests. Please note that matching may take time due to high demand.
Every friendship is different. Some companions chat over coffee, take walks, play cards, or just spend time together.
Yes. All Visiting Companions attend an orientation and pass a background check before being matched.
