Cindy was born and raised just south of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Athletics played an important role in her life, and one of her proudest accomplishments was breaking her high school’s shot-put record during her senior year. After graduating from high school, Cindy accepted a position as a nanny in Northbrook, Illinois, and just six months later moved with the family to West Palm Beach, Florida.

Eventually, Cindy returned to Wisconsin, where she raised her son as a single parent. She attended Chippewa Valley Technical College, where she earned a remarkable 4.0 GPA while studying to become a laboratory technician assistant. She later worked at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Music has always been one of Cindy’s greatest passions. She has played guitar since the age of nine and spent six years performing in a bluegrass gospel band. The group frequently visited nursing homes, sharing music and bringing joy to residents. Although ongoing pain in her thumbs and hands currently prevents her from playing guitar, she continues to cherish music, especially bluegrass and country. She also enjoys making earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, although hand pain has made those activities more challenging.

In April 2026, Cindy’s life changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with a form of bone marrow cancer. Since then, she has faced a constant stream of medical appointments, treatments, and uncertainty. The experience has left her feeling like she has been on a roller coaster, with frequent changes and difficult news to process. The diagnosis has also created significant social challenges. Because of the risk of infection, Cindy must limit who enters her apartment. While she enjoys talking with neighbors during her walks, much of her day-to-day life can feel isolating.

Cindy is seeking companionship because she would like more meaningful connection and support in her life. She wishes she had more people she could simply talk with and share life’s ups and downs. She is especially interested in being matched with another woman who enjoys conversation, mutual support, and genuine friendship.

When getting to know a new friend, Cindy would like to talk openly about her medical journey and the realities of what she is experiencing. At the same time, she values conversations that help her focus on something other than her health. She is not interested in discussing the news and has intentionally avoided following it for many years. Instead, she enjoys talking about personal interests, hobbies, and life experiences.
